This tape is manufactured from high quality polyester yarn and cotton yarn. Polyester imparts the tensile strength to the tape and cotton improves absorption capabilities of the tape. This tape is a superior replacement of ordinary cotton tape as it gives very good tensile strength and also reduces the moisture retention ratio. But the absorption property of this tape is lower than that of pure cotton tape.
Info about the manufacturing process:
Polyester yarn is used in length (warp) and cotton yarn is used in width (weft) for weaving. This tape too is manufactured in plain weave and twill weave.
Application:
This tape is generally used in transformer and motor industry for winding on coils.
